Knitting and Naked People

In two days I'm going to be starting up figure painting classes for the summer, which I
cannot wait for, since it'll give me something to do other than sewing or drooling at this:
My goal for this gorgeous piece is to complete something very similar in time for my friend's graduation in december. I can see this being worn so many ways and so very often in that Siberian wilderness we know as Dallas for x-mas.

But I need monies unfortunately. On the brightside, my Minnetonka's are freakin wonderful, as are my $8.00 Target boots.
Can't figure out how to work the fucking blog layout. Until Later... Gotta Conquer this fearsome beast.......

Sketch and Inspiration

Today is all about cleaning and sewing! Miss Meg is stopping by today and we'll be doing some screen printing on hoodies I've made.

Also how insanely beautiful is this hoodie? I could easily see myself destroying it within 30 minutes, but goddamn it is pretty.

So I leave you with one of the few quickie sketches I'm pretty happy with. Now if only I could get all my quickies to look like this..

When Meg Met Charlie

This is what I do at 2 am. Post drawings of my friends dressed up as old hollywood.

Jett Inspiration

Such an amazing woman!! This is my inspiration for the week.

Inspiration

Here are two images I did for a sketchbook assignment for Mr. Hodges class. Lately Ive been really inspired by fashion blogs, particuarly luluandyourmom. I love her edgy sense of design, but am afraid I dont quite have the courage to pull of what she does.

Oh well a girl can dream/draw!! But it would be nice to learn how to play a guitar.

Portfolio Work

Here is some work I did this past sophomore year at Ringling.
Overall I am happy in the direction I am going in. I think however that I struggle between a painterly approach to work and more graphic approach to illustration. i think a graphic approach looks more modern, but my own work is better when it painterly. I
think a greater focus on light and form will allow me to bridge that gap.

I think my portrait of a good friend in watercolor is an idea of where I can go in the future. Anything as an alternative to that annoying trend of illustrating people like they're public service books.
